Driven by a deep love for animals and nature, along with the support and encouragement of my husband, a U.S. Navy veteran, I created this website with help and contributions from others. As a former teacher and small business owner, I've gained a unique perspective on how education and action drive positive change—a viewpoint that builds upon the invaluable lessons my parents instilled in me from an early age, for which I am deeply grateful.

This website aims to raise awareness about threatened species and environmental issues that endanger the planet and, ultimately, our own survival.

Many of us have been remotely aware of climate change and other environmental challenges. Recently, however, our feelings that the problems were occurring elsewhere are being replaced as we are increasingly affected by weather extremes, forest fires, droughts, flooding, infrastructure damage, higher food prices, migration, and the health costs we are already paying.

Very soon, without changes, no one will be able to remain eco-unaware as the catastrophic costs will shatter life as we know it. Acting now to avert the disasters and suffering that will be passed on to our children in the form of a dystopian, devastated planet is critically needed. As a parent, I feel a profound responsibility to ensure a livable future for my teenage daughter and future generations.

While we wish to put a spotlight on the escalating disasters, the imminent and more important goal must be to provide practical solutions for them. One cannot miss the countless media reports about our issues, but fewer resources address concrete ways for individuals to contribute and effect change.

If you choose to conserve energy and support environmentally friendly practices, you contribute to the collective effort needed to save our planet. Individual actions may seem small and futile, but they have a profound impact when multiplied by billions of people doing likewise.

However, we must also work together as nations because the challenges are bigger than any country can solve. A united global community to tackle planet-wide problems is desperately needed.

To that end, the most powerful tool we can use to address the issues is to elect leaders who share our concerns and are willing to collaborate to find effective environmental solutions.
